foundersSCIENTISTS 2.0 - Turn Research into Impact | January 14, 2026 | DE
It is not easy for doctoral candidates to clearly articulate the impact of their research – yet it is well worth the effort. Those who can convincingly explain the (potential) contribution of their work are in a much better position when applying for third-party funding, transfer projects, or academic job interviews.
We invite you to get to know the WTT Impact Canvas – a compact tool for planning, measuring, and communicating the impact of research and transfer projects.
In the workshop, we will work together to:
- define who – and what – we are actually addressing with our research or transfer activity (target groups, stakeholders, challenges)
- clearly identify inputs and outputs – i.e., what resources are being mobilized and what results (e.g., formats, products) are already being produced
- reflect on what added value (outcome) we want to generate and what long-term impact this could have
- consider how we can demonstrate this added value – i.e., which indicators and metrics are useful
- use the WTT Impact Canvas iteratively as a living document – not only as a planning tool, but also for reflection and communication.
I look forward to taking this perspective with you – because research only becomes truly powerful when it not only takes place, but also becomes effective.

This transfer format was developed in collaboration with T!Raum – TransferRäume für die Zukunft von Regionen (Transfer Spaces for the Future of Regions), which is funded by the BMFTR. The course will be held in German. If you are interested in a course in English, please feel free to register – the date will then be agreed upon shortly.
