Science Cube Open Academy

The Open Academy is a free continuing education program for anyone who wants to make research on structural change in the Central German Mining Region accessible and communicate it effectively to the public. Here, you’ll learn how to turn research projects into compelling stories, relevant formats, and powerful messages. The one-year Open Academy is divided into two phases: a theoretical and a practical one. During the theoretical phase, lectures on structural change in the Central German Mining Region will be held. In the practical phase, projects and communication formats will be developed in creative workshops. The program culminates in a presentation and awards ceremony featuring a Science Slam at the SILBERSALZ Festival in Halle.

HGGS Summer Forum 2026: ImA(I)gining the Future

How Digital Technologies Rewrite Our World

On July 16–17, 2026, the Heidelberg Graduate School for the Humanities and Social Sciences (HGGS) invites researchers at all career levels to the Summer Forum themed “ImA(I)gining the Future: How Digital Technologies Rewrite Our World.”

The event explores how digital technologies—particularly AI—shape our present and future. Participants will enjoy two keynote lectures by renowned international experts, interactive workshops, and interdisciplinary exchange on technology, society, and culture.
