DFG-Junior academy "Infection Medicine"

DFG Logo_blau_SThe DFG Junior Researcher Academy "Infection Medicine" is intended to give young natural and and life science researchers as well as physicians and veterinarians from basic research and clinical practice the opportunity to implement infection medicine research ideas with human relevance from their own scientific and / or clinical work at an early stage of their academic career (up to a maximum of 6 years after their doctorate). The scientific focus should be on the prevention, prophylaxis and therapy of human infectious diseases, particularly with regard to host-pathogen interaction and translational-mechanistic research.

The prerequisite for participation in the Young Investigator Academy is the submission of a project outline on the advertised topic and its positive review by a panel of experts. Participation includes admission to a special qualification program in which participants receive targeted training and support from proven experts in project development and application submission. If the proposal developed as part of the Young Investigator Academy is reviewed positively, the program also includes one year of start-up funding for the scientific projects with material or personnel resources from the DFG.
Postdocs from Natural Sciences and Life Sciences as well as physicians and veterinarians from basic research and clinical practice who wish to work on a scientific research project in the focus area defined at the beginning and who also meet the following criteria are eligible to apply:
